OSPF needed a new protocol version (<strong data-start=”270″ data-end=”280″>OSPFv3) to support IPv6.<br data-start=”298″ data-end=”301″> IS-IS only needed a new TLV (Type-Length-Value).<br data-start=”349″ data-end=”352″> The base IS-IS protocol remained the same.
