What is your biggest learn so far?
Please share with us one or two things you have learned about IPv6 and explain why you think they are important.
For me, one cool thing I appreciate about IPv6 is its plug-and-play nature. You might have come across IPv6 link-local addresses. All IPv6-enabled interfaces automatically generate a link-local address using the prefix fe80::/64. These addresses are essential for network operations like discovering neighbors, identifying routers, learning network parameters, and even checking if the globally unique IPv6 address the device obtained can be used without conflict.
Another interesting feature I like about IPv6 is that a single interface can have multiple primary IPv6 addresses. This is revolutionary—it means that with one network interface, I can seamlessly connect to multiple networks and run different applications or instances without needing special configurations or additional interfaces.
