    You have to look at it from the binary side. The IPv6 global address start from :

    0010 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 – which translates to 2000::

    and ends at :

    0011 1111 1111 1111 1111 1111 1111 1111 – which translates to 3FFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF
