Hi Olumide it is very apt. But i think the layers security is important knowing that an host can be designated as a spoofing agent. The weakest link is the mole. So i think the now access layer security is still very important understanding who can connect to your free ports and wireless access is the first, security layer NAC and then protecting each host, antivirus, SIEM and etc. security will always evolve as we get smarter, he hackers also get enhanced and we must do much more.
