What is IPv6 and why do we need it?
IPv6 was developed to overcome the limitations of the IPv4 addressing protocol, specifically, the limited number of available IP addresses. IPv4 uses a 32-bit address space, which allows for approximately 4.3 billion unique addresses (2³²). In contrast, IPv6 uses a 128-bit address space, providing about 3.4 × 10³⁸ unique addresses.
